CISA's Office for Bombing Prevention Publishes Updated Bomb Threat Guide

CISA’s Office for Bombing Prevention (OBP) recently released updates to its Bomb Threat Guide. The guide is intended to help organizations revise or develop a bomb threat response plan and contingencies in the event an incident involving an explosive device. Given the heightened threat environment, including multiple bomb threats across the country just last week, utilites are encouraged to review this resource.

AP Report Highlights Risk of Aging Infrastructure, While Federal Funding Provides Opportunities to Help Mitigate the Risk

In areas across the U.S., trillions of gallons of drinking water are lost every year, particularly from water systems with aging infrastructure, which increases costs to both utilities and consumers, according to a recent AP News report. New federal funding, however, offers water and wastewater utilities an opportunity to replace and strengthen their infrastructure assets.

FEMA Launches Flood Preparedness Week, Helping Local Communities Enhance Resilience Efforts

Beginning in early March, states and municipalities across the country will participate in the National Weather Service’s flood awareness and preparedness week observances. FEMA is highlighting this campaign to help raise awareness of various flood risks that threaten both coastal and inland regions, such as riverine flooding, metro flooding, flood after fire, and hurricanes.
