On January 9, WaterISAC and UK Water Industry Research hosted a webcast to outline the contents of the UKWIR Toxicity and Microbiology Databases, their unique features and, with some case studies, how valuable they can be in the everyday work of the water sector and during contamination events.

These databases have information on over 650 chemicals and 80 microorganisms and represent a unique source of information especially tailored to the needs of the water industry. Included in the databases are frequent reviews of the literature on chemicals and microorganisms in the water sector.

The UKWIR Toxicity and Microbiology Databases are available to WaterISAC Pro members as part of their membership and can be accessed through the WaterISAC portal here.

The speakers for the webcast are Dr. David Holt, a researcher with over 20 years of experience specializing in drinking water quality in distribution systems and a project manager for 8 UKWIR projects related to drinking water quality, and Dr. Paul Rumsby, a technical manager of the National Centre for Environmental Toxicology with over 25 years' experience in toxicology with expertise in the mechanisms of toxicity.

A recording of the webcast (contained in a downloadable zip file) and the presentation are included below.
