WaterISAC proudly announces a significant milestone, having surpassed 600 members, reflecting an 18.4% growth since the start of the year. This growth underscores WaterISAC's crucial role in bolstering national water security and resilience.
Tom Dobbins, Executive Director of WaterISAC, expressed his enthusiasm about reaching this milestone: "As we celebrate surpassing 600 members, we are reminded of our critical mission to enhance the security and resilience of the nation's water and wastewater infrastructure. This milestone is more than a number—it represents a growing coalition of dedicated professionals and organizations committed to safeguarding our water systems against evolving threats. Each new member strengthens our collective knowledge and response capabilities, ensuring that WaterISAC continues to be an indispensable resource in our industry."
In 2024 alone, 94 new organizations have joined WaterISAC, fueled by a strategic partnership with the National Rural Water Association (NRWA) and enhanced recruitment efforts. These initiatives demonstrate the sector's robust commitment to strengthening security against physical and cyber threats.
The current membership includes over 70% utilities, with the remaining members consisting of government agencies, association partners, engineering and consulting firms, and other sector stakeholders.
These members collectively serve an estimated 231 million Americans, accounting for nearly 70% of the U.S. population.
This expansion not only represents the trust and value WaterISAC provides to the water and wastewater sector, but also enhances the collective capacity to manage threats and share critical information.
