Chad Wolf Sworn in as Acting DHS Secretary

On November 13, Chad Wolf was sworn in as the new acting secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Wolf had just been confirmed by the Senate for a different DHS job, undersecretary for strategy, plans, and policy, which allowed him to move into the department's top role. He previously served in several positions in DHS, including as chief of staff of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and chief of staff to former DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen. Wolf replaces Kevin McAleenan, who assuming the acting DHS secretary role following Nielsen’s departure in April. McAleenan submitted his resignation last month.
