On June 14, 2018, Google will roll-out a new G Suite sign-in page and wants users to be aware of the upcoming subtle changes to avoid confusion; G Suite users should familiarize themselves with the new look. There is no doubt Google’s announcement is a positive step to alleviate concern from users thinking they have landed on a phishing page. However, extra vigilance is required, as it is common for malicious actors to employ social engineering tactics taking advantage of our expectation of something (e.g., email, attachment, website link), where we often let our guard down because we are anticipating receipt from a trustworthy source. Be highly critical of anything mentioning the G Suite changes, as it would not be surprising for scammers to attempt to create look-alike login pages and fake email notifications purporting to be the Internet behemoth in an attempt to steal valuable credentials.
