Security Awareness – SANS Work-From-Home Deployment Kit

With countless utilities having implemented teleworking for much of their non-critical roles during the COVID-19 situation, it is likely that many did not have policies, procedures, or even infrastructure or devices in place to support a remote workforce. As such, many staff were probably sent home with little knowledge or resources on how to perform their jobs securely from remote locations and/or personal devices. However, despite valiant efforts on the part of organizations that do have support for teleworking and provide on-going training and security awareness, many staff may not have given those efforts due attention until now. Both scenarios create a significantly larger risk surface for your organization. Likewise, both scenarios may lead many to scramble for the training materials and perhaps reformat them into something meaningful to disseminate quickly. Regardless of your organizations’ preparedness to support the current remote workforce, the SANS Institute developed a Work-from-Home Deployment Kit to fast-track training and communications on how to securely work from home during COVID-19 and beyond. SANS also includes a fact sheet for quick dissemination. Don’t delay, arm your staff with the knowledge they need to keep your organization (and themselves) secure.
