Globally, People Point to Islamic State and Climate Change as Leading Security Threats

The Pew Research Center has posted a report titled “Globally, People Point to ISIS and Climate Change as Leading Security Threats” on the major global threats that mostly concern citizens across 38 countries. The top three threats for Americans are the Islamic State, cyberattacks from other countries, and global climate change. The citizens of 17 countries, mostly in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia also viewed the Islamic State as the top threat, while citizens of 13 countries, mostly in Latin America and Africa, identified global climate change. The number one threats for the remaining countries included cyberattacks, the condition of the global economy, refuges, and the influence and power of China or the U.S.
