Disinformation Fundamentals for the Water Sector

Wednesday, August 12, 2020, 2:00 – 3:00 PM ET (Members Only)

Disinformation, inaccurate information spread deliberately and with malicious intent, is an emerging threat with the potential to significantly impact the water sector. Join WaterISAC for a webinar on August 12 to learn more about how it can affect water utilities.

Attendees will hear from two national experts on disinformation campaigns and learn how adversaries develop false narratives to create confusion and uncertainty. These speakers will also explore how misinformation (inaccurate information) and malinformation (information grounded in reality but used in a misleading way) may challenge water utilities. WaterISAC staff will describe WaterISAC’s Countering Drinking Water Disinformation, the first water sector-specific disinformation toolkit, and describe how utilities can report and respond to suspected disinformation campaigns.

Participation is exclusively for WaterISAC members.
